HAMMOND ART WALK
A monthly downtown experience celebrating local artists, businesses, creativity, and community.
Explore Downtown Hammond in a new way through the Hammond Art Walk, a Third Thursday experience that brings together local artists, creative pop-ups, business stops, live demonstrations, food, music, and community programming. Held alongside Hammond Farmed & Forged, the Art Walk creates a walkable downtown experience designed to connect residents with local art, small businesses, and the creative energy of the city.

Celebrate Juneteenth at Farmed & Forged with local artists, music, food, vendors, and fresh, whole foods as we honor culture, resilience, community, and freedom.

Bring the whole family for hands-on activities, games, and fun designed to spark curiosity and get kids excited about local food and community.

THE WHISK & THE FLAME
Live Cooking Demonstrations at Hammond Market
Watch, learn, and taste alongside Chef Blāque and Chef Darrick as they transform fresh, local ingredients into delicious seasonal recipes. Held during Opening Day and Third Thursday markets, The Whisk & The Flame showcases cooking techniques, market-fresh products, and the stories behind the vendors who grow and create them. Explore upcoming demos, featured recipes, and the ingredients you can purchase right here at the market.

Our SNAP program helps individuals and families stretch their food budgets while accessing fresh, healthy, locally-grown food.

Visit the Farmed & Forged Info Booth to swipe your EBT card

We will triple up to a $20 purchase per market, meaning a $20 SNAP purchase gives you $60 total to spend at the market through our matching program.

Vouchers can be used on eligible items including fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, breads and cereals, meats, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, and seeds or plants that produce food.
The Hammond SNAP Match Program is Funded in part by a grant from Legacy Foundation, Lake County’s community foundation with additional support from the Hammond Mayor’s Office.

CURIOUS CHEFS PROGRAM
Join us during each monthly special market day for Curious Chefs, a fun, hands-on kids program at Farmed & Forged! Kids receive a $2 produce voucher to spend with participating vendors and can choose to complete a market-themed activity to earn prizes throughout the season!
Curious Chefs is a free program from The Collective designed to spark curiosity in kids while teaching them about food, nutrition, and community. Through fun, interactive activities, children learn:

Every session combines education with play, empowering kids to make healthy choices and discover the joy of fresh, local food.
