Artist Application

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Hammond Live Window Art Competition during the September Hammond Art Walk!

Create an original work of public art on a primed window panel and compete for cash prizes in the Hammond Live Window Art Competition.

Competition space is limited. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. All applications will be reviewed based on artistic quality, proposed design, experience, and alignment with this year's theme. Selected artists will be notified after the application deadline.

Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the Hammond Live Window Art Competition.

Event Details

📅 Date: Thursday, September 17, 2026

📍 Location: Dan Rabin Plaza, Downtown Hammond

Hammond Art Walk & Farmed & Forged Market

🎨 Artist Check-In & Setup: Beginning at 10:00 AM

Artists should check in with the event team before beginning work.

🖌️ Live Window Painting: 10:00 AM – Approximately 5:00 PM

Artists will paint throughout the day as visitors watch the artwork come to life. All pieces should be substantially complete before public voting begins.

🌼 Theme: Flowers & Plant Life

Create an original design inspired by flowers, gardens, botanicals, native plants, or the beauty of the natural world. Artwork should be colorful, welcoming, and appropriate for a family-friendly public environment.

🗳️ People's Choice Voting: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Visitors will vote for their favorite completed artwork by scanning a QR code located throughout the Art Walk.

🏆 Awards Announced: Approximately 6:45 PM

Winners will be recognized during the Hammond Art Walk.
