Show off your creativity during the Hammond Art Walk!

Create an original sidewalk chalk masterpiece and compete for cash prizes in our People's Choice Chalk Art Competition.

*Competition space is limited. Registration does not guarantee participation if all spaces have been filled. Artists who register by Tuesday, August 18 will receive priority placement. Walk-up registration will be available only if space remains.

Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years of age or older to compete in the Hammond Art Walk Chalk Art Competition.

Event Details

📅 Date: Thursday, August 20, 2026

📍 Location: Hammond Art Walk & Farmed & Forged Market

Dan Rabin Plaza, Downtown Hammond

🕜 Artist Check-In & Setup: Beginning at 1:30 PM at the Art Walk Information Booth

🎨 Chalk Art Competition: 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Artists are welcome to arrive anytime after 1:30 PM to begin creating their artwork. All pieces must be completed by 5:00 PM.

🗳️ People's Choice Voting: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Visitors will vote for their favorite artwork by scanning QR codes located throughout the Art Walk.

🏆 Winners Announced: 6:30 PM at the Art Walk

🎁 Prize Presentation: Winners will receive their cash prizes immediately following the announcement at the event.
