GIVING MARKET
Preliminary Impact Update

Community Supporting Community
Thank you to everyone who showed up for the first-ever Giving Market this weekend. Our community came together in a big way, and we’re incredibly grateful for every vendor, nonprofit partner, volunteer, and shopper who helped make this possible.
We are still actively collecting donations for the Salvation Army through the end of this week.

Economic Impact
A total of $7,000 was invested directly into eight local farms, creating a meaningful economic boost for the region. In addition, 25 small and local vendors were supported through the event, including 12 in Michigan City and 13 in La Porte.

Approximately 200 shoppers were served across both locations, with about 140 attendees in Michigan City and 165 in La Porte. Dozens of families received fresh produce ahead of the holidays, including 20 produce boxes picked up in Michigan City and 36 in La Porte. Remaining boxes in Michigan City were distributed to families supported by Stepping Stone Women’s Shelter and the Salvation Army, while in La Porte the remaining boxes were provided to families supported by Dunebrook Healthy Families and the Salvation Army
