About David

Hello! My name is David, father, potters and small business owner. During the pursuit of my Bachelors of Fine Arts from IUN, I met pottery for the first time. The potters wheel brought me to a place that no other art form had done for me since I discovered painting in my teen years. Wheel thrown pottery eventually took over my spare time, my cabinets and all my gifts for friends and family. I decided (during my corporate career life chapter) that I would one day retire and open a pottery studio. Well, that time came sooner than retirement! I took the leap in January 2023, and opened the doors to Duneland Pottery in downtown Chesterton. Since my journey has just recently begun, i look forward to adding lines to my bio and entertain discussions of artful experiences.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS

Duneland Pottery is a pottery studio for independent potters; also offering workshops and classes for interested newcomers. Finished pottery offered at retail.

FAVORITE PASTIME OR HOBBY

Pottery…of course. Anything artful and creative is my jam. In my younger days, basketball was all I knew.

PARTY TRICK, USELESS TALENT, OR FUN FACT

Im not trying to brag, but I learn by watching then practice; in most cases I feel confident and comfortable to do just about anything with determination.
