About Ruth
Ruth is the designer, sewist, and creative mind behind the product line of AddyLou Creates. She began dreaming up baby and children’s items while at home with her five young children over ten years ago. What started as a hobby has evolved into a business of sharing practical + beautiful handmade baby items to people around the world. Every item in the AddyLou shop is made of quality materials designed to be used again and again. Ruth believes that her pretty pieces add fun and charm into the everyday tasks of parenthood, which is why her items are important to parents and children alike!
When she is not sewing up a storm creating new product, she is outside gardening with her husband of 15 years, tending to chickens, baking, or enjoying the chaos of the mom life.
AddyLou Creates specializes in practical, but stylish baby, children and home items that not only work well, but add charm to normal days.

Ruth loves to design. She was a trained landscape designer before having children. Now, she is using the knowledge to help with sewing + quilt pattern designs for her shop in her free time. She also loves to be outside camping or hiking our state + national parks.

Ruth has 58 first cousins. She knows how to make homemade mayonnaise and bread (for some reason people find this very interesting). She is also the proud mom to five kiddos, 25 chickens, a dog and an avocado tree.
WHY DO YOU ENJOY BEING A MEMBER OF THE COLLECTIVE?
I have enjoyed being a part of an incredibly supportive group of people. Each person has a unique background that has helped their business grow and flourish. Seeing other Collective members succeed, inspires me to strive towards growing my business, despite the hurdles faced as a small business owner.
