I’ve been a professional artist all my life. My pottery embodies my training as an artist, my attraction to watercolors, printmaking, painting, and sculpture, plus my interests in American Regionalism, and Art from ancient cultures. A previous art instructor at Columbia College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I now live and work creating pottery in Northwest Indiana and sharing my love of clay.

About Louise & Steven

An elderly woman and a middle-aged man standing in a workshop, holding ceramic art pieces. The woman has white hair, glasses, and is wearing a colorful patterned sweater, while the man has blond hair and is wearing a black vest over a blue shirt. The woman is holding a glazed ceramic piece with a rustic appearance, and the man is holding a large, textured ceramic dish. Shelves with containers labeled with chemical names can be seen in the background.

BlackTree Studio Pottery makes and sells one-of-a-kind sculptural and functional pottery using stoneware and porcelain clays.
