Recommended Podcast: The MFCEO Project: The Truth About Loyalty, Entitlement, and Other Shit That’s Ruining Your Life

Recommended by Mandy

If you’re not familiar with Andy Frisella, get familiar, because he is going to give you the kick in the ass you need! Running a business is hard, and, if it wasn’t, everyone would do it. Andy knows this better than anyone.

To give you a brief background on his story, Andy saved enough money from working after-hours painting parking lots, so he could open his first retail business, Supplement Superstore, over 20 years ago. It was a VERY slow start, and, he even lived in the back of the store on a used mattress because he was so poor. Anything he made at his shop was invested back into his company, and it was YEARS before he ever took a paycheck. With hard work and perseverance, Supplement Superstore grew into a franchise and led to other business opportunities (like his supplement company 1st Phorm), making it a nine-figure business.

But, let’s put this into perspective. This was 20 years ago. This was before the internet really took off and WAY before people started utilizing social media like we do today. Without the resources we have readily available, Andy was able to move forward and turn his business into a multi-million dollar company. If he can do it with little resources, there’s no excuse for us to throw in the towel when the going gets hard.

His podcast is my absolute favorite entrepreneur resource - it is no fluff, no BS and straight to the point. In episode #303, The Truth About Loyalty, Entitlement and Other Shit That’s Ruining Your Life, he breaks down the shit you do to yourself that is hindering your success.

At the core of the episode is the following:

  1. No one is going to do this for you, you are owed absolutely nothing in this world, and you need to bust your ass for everything, every single day. Don’t feel like you are entitled - it will get you nowhere.

  2. Be resourceful and take accountability, quit being a “whiney bitch” and get shit done yourself. We have so many free resources and can find anything online. There should be absolutely no excuses.

  3. “Don’t leave 90% of your shit on the table.” Basically, work to your full potential, not just doing what everyone else is. Don’t use some victim mentality to get out of work. Most people aren’t willing to do what it takes, so, don’t be like most people. Quit talking about what you are GOING to do, and just do it.

Entrepreneurship is hard, y’all, and it’s so easy to get down on yourself. This episode is such a great reminder to not settle, go the extra mile, be mentally tough, and most of all, quit making excuses and get shit done.
